Genesis Mining With New Lower Prices for Bitcoin Hashrate

genesis-mining-new-lower-prices

It has been a while since Genesis Mining has lowered their Bitcoin cloud mining hashrate prices, the last time was early this year when they also lowered the maintenance fees . This time they have lowered the prices slightly without apparently announcing the fact like they usually do and we have just discovered that, though we are not sure when this has actually happened. The new prices are as follows: 50 GHS are available for $22.49 USD ($0.45 per GH/s), 1000 GHS for $419 USD ($0.42 per GH/s) and 15000 GHS for $5850 USD ($0.39 per GH/s) which is roughly between about 8% and 13% down from the previous prices with the maintenance fee remaining at $0.0015 USD per GHS per day. While these prices might not be the lowest out there in the cloud mining industry at least you will be investing in a reliable company that has been out there for quite a while already, so your long term investment should be much safer than if investing in a risky new business that turns out to be a scam. You can also use our special promo code – CryptoMiningBlog5 that will give you an extra 5% discount on the regular prices for every purchase at Genesis Mining, so you can get even better prices.

Updated Miner Control Tool Packages for AMD and Nvidia

miner-control-tool-latest

We have updated our complete packages based on the Miner Control tool for Nvidia GeForce GT 750 Ti and AMD Radon R9 280x GPUs with the latest changes taking place lately. The latest versions you can download from the links below include the updated stratum servers of NiceHash and WestHash that are already in operation, and while the old ones still work they will stop resolving next month. We have also removed the YAAMP pool support as it has apparently been taken down permanently this time after a recent hack, if it becomes available back online at a later time we may add back the support. The latest updates also include the most recent versions of SP-MOD’s ccMiner for Nvidia Maxwell as well as the new sgminer fork with increased performance for Quark and Qubit with pre-compiled Binary Kernels for 280X. WhirlpoolX support has been removed as currently there are no altcoins utilizing this algorithm available for mining, if we get some new coins that are profitable to mine we are going to bring it back again.

To be ready to use the packages you just need to update the account settings for each pool to reflect your BTC payment address. Do note that the default configuration that we have set is mining from time to time for the author of the software (Miner Control) as a donation alternative, but you can change that setting should you wish to. The packages are ready to be used with either AMD Radeon R9 280X or Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 Ti cards, but you can also us the Nvidia package for other GPUs or more cards – what you may need to reflect however in the config file is the total hashrate and power usage. Since the AMD packages contains not only specific settings for AMD Radeon R9 280X, but also pre-compiled binary kernels specifically for that particular card if using it with other GPUs you will actually be getting lower hashrate, though n problem to use it with multiple 280X cards.

The GigaHash Bitcoin cloud mining service that we have started testing about a month ago has recently sold out their GHASH2 batch of 50 THS hashrate bringing the total Bitcoin cloud mining hashrate sold to customers to 150 THS. Since they are waiting for another 60 THS worth of mining hardware to expand the mining farm to 210 THS they have just added a pre-order option for the new hardware consisting of 52 units of Bitmain AntMiner S5 devices that are expected to be available and running before June 9th. The pre-order price is currently set at 0.00152500 BTC or about $0.36 USD per GHS for the upcoming hashrate (maintenance fee is $0.00117 USD per GHS) and you can already order. Do note that the GHASH2 batch 2 Bitcoin cloud mining hashrate will not start mining for you immediately, it should when the hardware arrives in about two weeks from now! So far we are quite happy with the performance, reliability and profitability of the service, so we do plan to invest some more into hashrate with the upcoming new mining hardware.

The forum operators have reported on twitter and it looks like attackers have compromised the password hashes and email addresses of the registered users. Thus a recommendation was posted that everyone changes their password on BitcoinTalk when it is back online and also change the password in other websites where the user is using the same password (never a wise idea to use the same email and password for multiple websites). There was an attempt to bring back the website today, but it has been taken down again and it will most likely take another day for the forum to be back online, so hopefully tomorrow things should be back online again.

Laszlo posted his request on the BitcoinTalk forum on May 18th, 2010 and on May 22nd he reported that he has successfully spent 10000 BTC for pizza provided by a user called jercos. New sgminer With Optimized Quark and Qubit Binary Kernels

sgminer-5-1-1-quark-qubit

Quark and Qubit algorithms continue to be quite profitable, but until recently these algorithms were mostly in the Nvidia domain as the ccMiner for Nvidia GPUs was faster than the available performance on AMD hardware. There is however a new sgminer fork with compiled Quark and Qubit kernels that was sent to us that brings up the hashrate significantly on Pitcairn and Thaiti AMD GPUs. We have tested this particular sgminer on a Radeon R9 280X and we are getting about 11.22 MHS on Quark with a non overclocked GPU and about 12.3 MHS on Qubit and you can get higher with OC and increase in the Intensity. Quark is apparently quite profitable at the moment on NiceHash and WestHash due to the interest in SharkCoin or so it seems, so if you have some idle AMD GPUs that you are wondering where to point them there. Do note that the sgminer is not compiled by us and it comes with the standard OpenCL kernel files, so you need to use the binaries for the higher performance. Since we have not compiled this sgminer from source and it was sent to us already compiled we would recommend to be cautions and not run it on systems with wallets installed, just in case!

To download and try the sgminer 5.1.1 with optimized Quark and Qubit kernels for Windows OS…

Choose The New Coin You Like to Mine at Genesis Mining and Win 500 GHS

genesis-mining-new-coin-poll

The cloud mining company Genesis Mining is going to be adding a new alternative crypto coin to the list of coins you can mine with the cloud hashrate you can purchase from them. After a survey among the company’s customers to see what are the most wanted coins to be added, the list was shortened to just 4 crypto coins – Ziftrcoin (ZRC), Peercoin (PPC), Primecoin (XPM) and Zetacoin (ZET). Out of these four two are using SHA-256 – Zetacoin and Peercoin, so you should be able to mine them directly and the two others – Ziftrcoin and Primecoin are using different algorithms, so you will be able to get paid in them if any of them gets chosen as the new addition.

So we come to the point where you can vote in a poll to choose the coin you want from the four top choices and get the chance to win some cloud mining hashrate. Three people from all who vote will be getting 500 GHS lifetime cloud mining hashrate each at the service (the winner will be picked randomly). All you have to do is cast your vote in the special poll at the official Facebook page of Genesis Mining and you have until Friday May 22, 2015 at 11 pm CET to do so.

The New York Stock Exchange Launching a Bitcoin Price Index (NYXBT)

nyse-website

An interesting announcement coming straight from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) about the lauch of the first exchange-calculated and disseminated bitcoin index – NYSE Bitcoin Index (NYXBT). The new NYXBT Index will represent the U.S. dollar value of one bitcoin unit based upon actual transactions occurring on select bitcoin exchanges which have been evaluated and meet NYSE’s quality standards. The NYSE Bitcoin Index will initially feature data from transactions from the Coinbase Exchange, an exchange that NYSE made a minority investment in earlier this year.

“Bitcoin values are quickly becoming a data point that our customers want to follow as they consider transacting, trading or investing with this emerging asset class,” said NYSE Group President Thomas Farley. “As a global index leader and administrator of ICE LIBOR, ICE Futures U.S. Dollar Index and many other notable benchmarks, we are pleased to bring transparency to this market. By combining our technology infrastructure with our expertise in index calculation and data management, we will continue to launch complementary products based on our rigorous standards and proprietary index methodology.”

NYXBT utilizes a unique methodology that relies on rules-based logic to analyze a dataset of matched transactions and verify the integrity of the data to ultimately produce an objective and fair daily value for one bitcoin in U.S. Dollars as of 16:00 London time. The index will be published within a short period of that time via the widely-distributed NYSE Global Index Feed (GIF) as well as made publicly available for an initial period on the NYSE index page.

Bitcoin Cloud Mining with Mining Sweden

mining-sweden

Mining Sweden is a relatively new Bitcoin cloud mining company that has apparently been started earlier this year and as the name implies it is based in Sweden, a still smaller mining operation that wants to expand further. The approach that the service has is a bit different as compared to most other cloud mining operations by offering shares and they want to be transparent and open to users regarding their mining operations. The company has published numerous photos and some videos of their mining operation as well as other proofs of the mining hardware they rely on which is supplied from Bitmain and Spondoolies Tech apparently. They have started with a smaller mining farm with the idea to increase the size also looking for help from users and offering to share their profits with people that decide to believe in them and invest. So far the service does look interesting and quite promising based on our first impressions and we have decided to give it a try…

mining-sweden-shares

As a customer, instead of buying hashrate directly, you are buying it the form of shares and you have two different options available. One is mining shares where 1 Mining Share is equal to 1 GH SHA-256 hashrate for a price of $0.69 USD and the price includes all fees for 12 months. The second option is in the form of VIP shares that are limited in number (100,000 Shares total) available at a price of $8.79 USD and for that price you get 5 GHS per share and a share of the company’s profits. The idea of the VIP shares that are a bit more expensive than mining only shares is that you actually become a kind of investor in the company – you help them increase the mining power and you get extra profit in return. So miners interested in faster ROI can get Mining Shares and more serious investors interested in longer term investment can go for the VIP Shares.

As usual we are starting with a smaller investment as with other cloud mining companies that we are testing, so we have decided to purchase 100 GHS worth of shares in hashrate and go for the VIP shares, though we will most likely also invest in some Mining Shares only at a later time if things are looking good. Mining Sweden supports payments with PayPal and Bitcoin, Litecoin, Paycoin, Dogecoin, Darkcoin, Feathercoin or Vertcoin in the form of crypto currencies. We have even found a working discount code for the service that will provide you with an extra 10% discount from the regular prices – just enter ms10 during checkout, so you can take advantage from it as long as it lasts. The usual word of warning for cloud mining services also goes here – do not start big and don’t invest more than you can afford to loose.

For more information about the service and to start cloud mining Bitcoins with Mining Sweden…

GlobalBoost (BSTY) Altcoin Giveaway from Crypto Mining Blog

globalboost-giveaway

We like the GlobalBoost (BSTY) alternative crypto currency that uses Yescrypt algorithm for mining, so we have decided to run a giveaway of some coins for free to everyone interested in checking it out. The BSTY started as a CPU-only crypto coin, but recently we have seen GPU miners for Nvidia and AMD getting released as well, though they still need some performance optimization. For the moment CPU mining is still faster, especially if you have an up to date multi-core processor that is sitting idle and waiting to be put to some good use such as mining.

So getting back to the GlobalBoost (BSTY) giveaway, all you have to do to take part in it is to post your BSTY wallet address in the comments below and you will get 50 BSTY coins sent to you – that is the reward you get if you mine a single BSTY block. Do note that since the all of the coins will be sent manually to you it may take some time before your reward is sent, but normally it should not take more than a few hours. Only one reward per user is allowed, so please do not abuse our giveaway – we have prepared enough coins to give away, but we reserve the right to cancel the giveaway at any time we decide.

CPU vs AMD and Nvidia GPU Mining for Yescrypt Coins

yescrypt-cpu-miner

Earlier this month GPU miners for Yescrypt getting released for AMD and Nvidia GPUs were released thanks to the work of djm34. These miners however still seem to be slower in terms of performance when compared to CPU mining for Yescrypt, so we’ve decided to give a quick test on what some up to date CPU and GPU hardware is capable of in terms of performance. There are two coins that rely on Yescrypt at the moment, these are GlobalBoost-Y (BSTY) and Unitus (UIS), though UIS is a multi-algorithm altcoin. Below you can download the CPU miner for mining Yescrypt that we’ve used for the tests and as for the GPU miners, we have already published them here on the website – the djm34 fork of ccMiner and sgminer with Yescrypt support as well as the latest ccMiner fork from SP.

Performance results for Yescrypt:
– Intel Core i7 5820K CPU: 5.22 KHS
– AMD Radeon R9 280X GPU: 0.793 KHS
– Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 GPU: 1.124 KHS

Updated ccMiner 1.6.3-git fork by tpruvot with NeoScrypt Support

ccminer-1-6-3-tpruvot-git-latest

We have compiled a new up to date Windows binary from the latest ccMiner 1.6.3-git by tpruvot (source). The latest version includes support for the NeoScrypt algorithm that has been improved over djm34’s initial work that should also work on older Compute 3.0 Nvidia GPU. There are also numerous code improvements included in the latest code, so if you are using tpruvot’s fork of ccMiner you might want to update. The previous windows binary release that we posted required Compute 3.5 as a minimum, though we are not able to currently test if Compute 3.0 works properly. Our windows binary is compiled with VS2013 and supports Compute 3.0, 3.5, 5.0 and 5.2 GPUs, you can download and try it below, there is an example BAT file setup for testing.

Updated Daily Profit from HashFlare and GigaHash Cloud Mining Services

hashflare-current-profit-estimate

Time for another update on the actual daily profit we are getting after about two weeks of using the two new additions to the list of cloud mining services that we are testing. The first one is HashFlare powered by HashCoins mining hardware. Below you can see the daily actual profit (the mined coins minus the maintenance fee) we got for 100 GHS cloud mining hashrate purchased at the service:

27.04.15 – 0.00104485 BTC
28.04.15 – 0.00102340 BTC
29.04.15 – 0.00103423 BTC
30.04.15 – 0.00103791 BTC
01.05.15 – 0.00102066 BTC
02.05.15 – 0.00105168 BTC
03.05.15 – 0.00104769 BTC
04.05.15 – 0.00103686 BTC
05.05.15 – 0.00099838 BTC
06.05.15 – 0.00100563 BTC
07.05.15 – 0.00103024 BTC
08.05.15 – 0.00100574 BTC
09.05.15 – 0.00104748 BTC
10.05.15 – 0.00102330 BTC
11.05.15 – 0.00100108 BTC

gigahash-current-daily-profit

The second cloud mining service is GigaHash powered mostly by Technobit ASIC miners, a smaller mining operation also EU-based. Do note that the actual profit you get from cloud mining services can vary depending on the BTC exchange rate as the maintenance fees usually covering electricity and such are fixed in USD, so with higher exchange rate the costs are getting smaller and the profit per GHS higher. Below you can see the daily actual profit (the mined coins minus the maintenance fee) we got for 100 GHS cloud mining hashrate purchased at the service:

30.04.15 – 0.00046600 BTC
01.05.15 – 0.00063100 BTC
02.05.15 – 0.00060000 BTC
03.05.15 – 0.00058000 BTC
04.05.15 – 0.00049000 BTC
05.05.15 – 0.00048500 BTC
06.05.15 – 0.00060000 BTC
07.05.15 – 0.00049000 BTC
08.05.15 – 0.00050000 BTC
09.05.15 – 0.00051500 BTC
10.05.15 – 0.00053000 BTC
11.05.15 – 0.00054000 BTC
12.05.15 – 0.00048000 BTC

Both services seem to be running smooth and problem free and provide pretty consistent results, though at the second one we see some peaks. These stable results in terms of actual profit are thanks to the quite stable network difficulty and price of Bitcoin lately and that makes it easier to do some estimates when things are more stable, though there are no guarantees if they will continue to be like that and for how long.

New sgminer 5.1.0 fork with Optimized Lyra2RE Kernel

sgminer-5-1-0-lyra2re-pallas

Back in February we’ve mentioned about a crowdfunding project for a new optimized Lyra2RE optimized kernel by a used called pallas on the Bitcointalk forum. Now the source code of the optimized kernel, along with the sgminer fork, has been released by pallas and we have compiled a windows binary of the miner for everyone that is interested in trying it out on Windows. Our quick test has shown about 640 KHS hashrate mining Lyra2RE with the compiled binary and the optimized kernel on a non-overclocked Radeon R9 285 GPU (with slight factory OC of the card) by increasing a bit the intensity from the default 15. You are welcome to experiment and report what hashrate you are getting with this sgminer fork and optimized kernel on your GPU. Do note that this fork of sgminer only comes with kernels supporting Lyra2RE, therefore it is not intended for mining with other algorithms.
